I have been pleased with myself all week for being so productive and meeting all my transcribing daily targets. And today I am so distracted. I want to think about a million different interesting things. I'm bored of listening to my interviews with teenagers and typing them out.

Day 1
working with the education team in the Strategy Unit...
I had a headache by mid-afternoon, purely because I did a working day! Walking to the office through Trafalgar Square was a joy, as was the discovery that you could get to No.10 downing Street from my office through the rabbit warrens of Whitehall.

I got onto a bus and sat down. Standing near the driver was one of his colleagues, who seemed to be just along for the ride to keep him comapny 'So' said the colleague, 'Burrrn's night tonite!' (imagine a thick west-country accent) 'Hmph' went the driver, not really listening 'Mmm' said the colleague. There was a long pause  'Yep' exclaimed the colleague, pulling up his trousers...'The missis has taken the haggis outta the fridge an' says I can't come 'ome unless I peck up some neeps'
'Meeps?' replied the driver. 'NEEPS' said the colleague loudly....'Turneps'
